The development of new roads, retail spaces, housing, and commercial uses has been spurred, directly or indirectly, by construction of the new ExxonMobil campus.
The Woodlands is in the midst of establishing a new medical corridor with two major hospitals under construction and existing hospitals undergoing expansions and renovations.
There are 32 existing Class A office buildings in The Woodlands submarket, as well as six that are currently under construction and 14 proposed buildings, according to data from CoStar Properties and the Lone Star College System’s North Houston Regional Center for Economic Development.
"The retail market is extremely strong, and The Woodlands is a great place to be doing business," said Eugene Satern, the general manager of The Woodlands Mall.
Ten new hotels are under construction or proposed for The Woodlands area in an effort to meet demand from an increased number of travelers and interest in the community’s array of local events.
